The brief
Teams running AI coding agents on remote machines with herdr needed a way to see which agents were blocked and answer them without opening a laptop. Imperial AI asked Techarge to build a secure, native-feeling mobile client.
- Flutter and Dart: one codebase for Android, iPhone and iPad.
- SSH speaking herdr's own protocol: a live tree of workspaces, tabs and panes, with agent status updating as it happens.
- Security first: host-key verification, secrets in Android Keystore and iOS Keychain, an optional biometric app lock, and no analytics or accounts.
- Store-ready: Google Play Billing and StoreKit for a one-time unlock, an offline demo mode for App Review, and Codemagic CI for signed releases.
Features
Observe or take control: open any pane as a read-only terminal, then take control when an agent needs an answer and release it again.
Built for phones: an extra keys row (Esc, Tab, sticky Ctrl and Alt), pinch to zoom, and a plain SSH shell when herdr isn’t installed.
Multiple servers: password or SSH key sign-in, Ed25519 key generation in the app, and import of OpenSSH/PEM keys.
